The scene was filmed at Hearn Generating Station - a decommissioned power plant originally built as a coal-fired station in 1951 and converted to natural gas in the 1970s. The station was closed in the 1980s, and the site has been largely unused since. Most of the equipment inside was removed in 2002 when plans were made to turn the site into a film studio, but those plans were eventually abandoned.
