The scene was filmed at The 51-story skyscraper is the first building in a new three-tower office complex, completed in 2009. Originally, the site was planned for development in the 1990s, but the project stalled during the economic downturn and was eventually halted in 1993, when only the underground parking and a six-story elevator shaft were completed. When the site was developed, the elevator shaft was dismantled, but the parking remained from the original project.

The scene was filmed at The courthouse, originally known as the New York County Courthouse, houses the civil and appellate divisions of the New York State Supreme Court. Construction took place from 1913 to 1927, delayed by World War I, and replaced the Tweed Courthouse to the west. The building was designed by Guy Lowell in the Roman Classical style at a cost of $30 million. At the center of the courthouse is a 75-foot-high rotunda with a fresco titled "Law Through the Ages" by Attilio Pusterla, created as part of the Works Project Administration.

The scene was filmed at Thomas Paine Park and the adjacent Foley Square are located in the heart of Manhattan's Civic Center, opposite the Supreme Court and several other judicial and federal buildings. The park was named after founding father Thomas Paine, and the square after local civic leader and saloon owner "Big Tom" Foley. The site has been common land since 1811 when the Collect Pond that previously occupied the site was filled in, and the park and square were officially combined in 2005.

The scene was filmed at Built in 1941 on the site of a former amusement park, the R.C. Harris plant currently supplies nearly half of Toronto's drinking water. The building was designed in the Art Deco style and is colloquially known as the "Palace of Purification" for its grand architecture both inside and out. The plant was named after Rowland Caldwell Harris, who was Toronto's Commissioner of Works at the time of construction.

Brooklyn Bridge

The scene was filmed at Bryant Park is located in midtown Manhattan and houses the New York Public Library. Originally opened in 1847 as Reservoir Square, it was renamed Bryant Park in 1884. The park deteriorated over the years until a renovation in the 1980s, when the entire park was rebuilt over the library's newly constructed underground stacks.
