The scene was filmed at Athenaeum - a private club for men pursuing intellectual interests, with a special focus on members who have achieved outstanding success in the sciences and arts. Women were not allowed into the club as guests until 1972, and were denied membership until 2002. The club building was constructed in 1830 by architect Decimus Burton in the neoclassical style, with two upper floors added later at the end of the same century.
