The scene was filmed at Athenaeum - a private club for men pursuing intellectual interests, with a special emphasis on members who have achieved outstanding success in the sciences and arts. Women were not admitted to the club as guests until 1972, and were denied membership until 2002. The club building was constructed in 1830 by architect Decimus Burton in the neoclassical style, with the two upper floors added later, at the end of the same century.
