The scene was filmed at The iconic landmark originally began its life as two separate piers with different owners and purposes. The first was the Municipal Pier, built in 1909 to run sewage pipes away from the beach. The shorter Pleasure Pier was built in 1916 by Charles and Arthur Looff to house an amusement park. The distinctive entrance arch and bridge were built in 1938. The pier was acquired by the city in 1974 and saved from demolition by a public campaign. Currently, the pier houses the Pacific Park family amusement park with a solar-powered Ferris wheel, arcade games, a museum, an aquarium, a carousel, and several restaurants.

The scene was filmed at The grand Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles opened in 1923 as the largest hotel west of the Mississippi. The hotel was designed by Schultze & Weaver in a blend of Mediterranean styles. The hotel's lavish interior includes frescoes by artist Giovanni Smeraldi, who also painted works for the Vatican and the White House. In addition to being featured in hundreds of films and TV shows over the years, the hotel was also the site where the Academy Awards were planned in 1927 and hosted the ceremony eight times over the years.
