The scene was filmed at the Primatial Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo, a Roman Catholic church in High Gothic style built in the 13th century. Its construction began in 1226 and was completed in 1493, when the vaults of the central nave were added. The church was built on the remains of an old city mosque, which in turn was built on the remains of an even older church.
