The scene was filmed at Viaducto de Segovia, which has been reconstructed several times since the original iron structure was built in 1874. It was built to connect the city of Madrid with the Royal Palace across a ravine formed by the San Pedro stream. In 1931, architect Francisco Javier Ferrero Llusá began replacing the original span, and a few years later the concrete-granite structure was completed. In 1974, a major renovation was carried out to raise and widen the bridge and increase the possible traffic load, although the previous structure was preserved.
