The scene was filmed at the Alhambra, an Islamic fortified palace whose construction began in 1238 by Muhammad I Ibn al-Ahmar. In the 15th century, the palace became the seat of the royal court of Ferdinand and Isabella with minor modifications, but much of its original design was preserved. After centuries of neglect in the 19th century, the palace was meticulously restored and became a popular tourist attraction.
