The scene was filmed at The Ambassador Hotel was a famous hotel in Los Angeles. It opened on January 1, 1921, and later became a popular retreat for stars such as Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Nat King Cole, Barbra Streisand, John Wayne, and others. The hotel was the site of the assassination of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy on June 5, 1968. The hotel closed in 1989 and was finally demolished in 2005. The property was acquired for the construction of new schools. Only part of the hotel's entrance gates remain from the historic hotel.
