The scene was filmed at Green-Wood Cemetery, founded in 1838 as a rural cemetery. Like other early rural cemeteries, Green-Wood was established during a period of rapid urbanization when churchyards in New York City were becoming overcrowded. Jean-Michel Basquiat and Leonard Bernstein are among the famous artists who found their final resting place at Green-Wood.
