The scene was filmed at The Mahaweli River, literally "Great Sandy River", is a 335 km (208 mi) long river, the longest river in Sri Lanka. The gorge is near the Victoria Dam, an arch dam located 130 miles (209 km) upstream from the mouth of the Mahaweli River and 4 miles (6 km) from Teldeniya. Its primary purpose is irrigation and hydroelectric power generation. It is the tallest dam in Sri Lanka, supporting a 210 MW power station.
