Archway Under the Manhattan Bridge

In Reality

The scene was filmed at Archway - a 7,000 square foot space under the Manhattan Bridge, paved with historic Belgian block and 45′ high. The arches were closed for 17 years and used by the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) as a scrap metal storage facility. After years of advocacy by the DUMBO Improvement District, the DOT returned the Archway to the public in 2007. It hosts performances, events, lunch breaks, and more.

High-Stakes Card Game

In Reality

The scene was filmed at The Reform Club - a private members' club built in 1841 by architect Sir Charles Barry in the Italian Renaissance style. Originally founded as an all-male club and home to progressive political parties, it became the first of its kind to admit women in 1981, and now, after the decline of the Liberal Party, has shifted to a less political role.

M.I.B. Subway

The scene was filmed at Canary Wharf station on the Jubilee line, built in 1999 to serve the rapidly growing passenger flow at the Docklands Light Railway station. Designed by architect Sir Norman Foster, it has a massive interior capable of handling 50,000 daily passengers. Two entrances lead to the station, covered by curved glass canopies, and Jubilee Park stretches above the station.

The scene was filmed at Ludgate Hill - the name of a street that runs between St. Paul's Churchyard and Ludgate Circus (built in 1864), from where it becomes Fleet Street. It was formerly a much narrower street called Ludgate Street. Ludgate Hill is also a hill in the City of London, near the old Ludgate, a gate to the City that was demolished in 1780. St. Paul's Cathedral sits on it, traditionally believed to be the site of a Roman temple to the goddess Diana. It is one of three ancient hills of London, the others being Tower Hill and Cornhill.

The scene was filmed on Battery Place between Washington Street and Greenwich Street in Lower Manhattan, near the western edge of Battery Park City. Here, modern office towers, residential buildings, and green spaces along the waterfront mix. Nearby are the Museum of Jewish Heritage and other landmarks. This location is often used in films due to its stylish architecture and proximity to the southern tip of Manhattan.
