The scene was filmed Originally built as Regent Circus South in 1819, Piccadilly Circus acquired its current name in the 1880s. Starting in 1908 with a Perrier sign, the junction was surrounded by characteristic illuminated signs, giving it a distinctive Times Square feel, although now all that has been reduced to a single building on the northwest corner of the circle. The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, originally located in the center of the circle but moved as roads changed, was built in 1892 in memory of the Victorian political figure Lord Shaftesbury.

The scene was filmed The Anglican cathedral on Ludgate Hill was built in the late 17th century to replace an earlier cathedral destroyed in the Great Fire of London. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the English Baroque style and was the tallest building in the city from its completion in 1710 until 1967.

The scene was filmed Trafalgar Square is a large public square opened in 1844 after nearly twenty years of construction designed by architect John Nash. The square is named after the British naval victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, and features the 218-foot Nelson's Column in memory of the admiral who died in the battle. At the north end of the square is the National Gallery, and beneath it is Charing Cross tube station.
