The scene was filmed at Shaw's Sunshine Gardens, located at the corner of Lumpkin Road and Lumpkin Park Drive, are the home of Charlie and Debra Shaw. The gardens are a combination of an eclectic free-form rural garden and orderly commercial flower beds. The heritage part of the garden is the result of Jane Shaw's efforts over the past forty-plus years. It contains a mix of diverse perennials, including many old varieties of daylilies, as well as roses, fruit trees, and annuals that change from season to season.

The scene was filmed at White Sands National Monument is a U.S. national monument located in the state of New Mexico on the north side of Highway 70 about 16 miles (26 km) southwest of Alamogordo. The monument is situated at an elevation of 4,235 feet (1,291 m) in the mountain-ringed Tularosa Basin and is the southern part of a 275 sq mi (710 km2) field of white sand dunes composed of gypsum crystals. The gypsum dune field is the largest of its kind on Earth.
