The scene was filmed Atop Mesa Roldán stands a tower built in 1764 for artillery defense of the coast, but it proved to be an unsuitable location for this purpose. In the mid-1800s, it briefly served as a lighthouse until a more permanent structure was built nearby, and in the second half of the 20th century, a telecommunications antenna was installed on it.
