The scene was filmed at the Russ Building, a neo-Gothic office tower located in the Financial District of San Francisco. The building is 133 meters (436 feet) tall, was built in 1927, has 32 floors, and featured the city's first indoor parking garage. It was designed by architect George W. Kelham.

The scene was filmed at Columbus Tower, also known as the Sentinel Building, a mixed-use building in San Francisco, California, completed in 1907. Although the building was finished in 1907, construction began before the San Francisco earthquake the previous year, but extensive damage to the construction site and the entire city significantly delayed construction. The building was designed by Salfield and Kohlberg. Currently, most of the tower is occupied by Francis Ford Coppola's studio American Zoetrope.
