«Belfast» was one of the first films shot during the coronavirus pandemic, which affected the approach to filming. Initially, it was planned that the street depicted in the film would be built in a prestigious part of London, but due to the pandemic this was deemed impractical, so it was decided that they would need to recreate the street used on the set. The end of a runway at Farnborough Airport was used.

The scene was filmed at Cave Hill or Cave Hill is a rocky hill overlooking the city of Belfast. It gets its name from the five caves located on the slope of Belfast's main cliff. Its height is 368 meters (1,207 feet). At the top of the hill are the remains of an ancient fort called McArt's Fort. Its distinctive feature is "Napoleon's Nose" - a rock resembling the profile of the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
