The scene was filmed at Osborne House - a former royal residence in East Cowes. The house was built between 1845 and 1851 for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as a summer home and rural retreat. Prince Albert himself designed the house in the style of an Italian Renaissance palazzo. Queen Victoria died at Osborne House on 22 January 1901.

West Wycombe Park

Today, although the building is owned by the National Trust, the house is still the home of the Dashwood family. The house is open to visitors in the summer months and is a venue for civil weddings and corporate events, which helps fund its upkeep and maintenance.
