The scene was filmed at The Old Vic - a theatre that traces its history back to 1818 when it began as the Royal Coburg Theatre. In 1871 it was rebuilt and reopened as the Royal Victoria Palace. By 1880 it was already known as "The Old Vic". Kevin Spacey was the artistic director from 2003 to 2015.

The scene was filmed at St. Martin's Theatre - a West End theatre that has been home to the play "The Mousetrap" since March 1974, which is the longest continuous run of any play in the world. It was designed by W. G. R. Sprague as one of two theatres together with the Ambassador Theatre, also located on West Street. Although the Ambassador opened in 1913, construction of St. Martin's was delayed due to the outbreak of World War I. The theatre opened on 23 November 1916 with the musical "Hora La!"
