The scene was filmed at Radio Kootwijk - a former transmitter park on the Veluwe river, which in the first half of the 20th century was an important link between the Netherlands and its former colonies, especially the Dutch East Indies. It was built starting in 1918. Houses for workers were also built, which together formed the village of the same name.
