The palace, one of the largest houses in England, was built between 1705 and 1722 and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It is unique in that it is used as a family home, a mausoleum and a national monument. The palace is known as the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill. The covered colonnade leads to the chapel of Blenheim Palace.

The scene was filmed at The Royal Naval College in Greenwich was a training establishment of the Royal Navy from 1873 to 1998, where courses for naval officers were conducted. It housed the Royal Navy Staff College, which provided advanced training for officers. The magnificent Painted Hall is recognized as the greatest work of decorative painting in England and has been called the Sistine Chapel of the United Kingdom. It was originally conceived as a dining room for the military pensioners who lived here at the Royal Hospital for Seamen. The Painted Hall reopened in 2019 after a two-year award-winning conservation project and is now open for visits, tours and hire.
