The scene was filmed at Church Square - a square in the historic center of Pretoria. Originally it was called Market Square from the Dutch word Marktplein. The founder of Pretoria, Martinus Pretorius, decided that the square would be used as a market and churchyard. It was later named after the church buildings that stood in the center of the square from 1856 to 1905.
