The scene was filmed Pasadena City Hall serves as the central administrative building of the city of Pasadena. Its construction was completed on December 27, 1927. The architectural firm Bakewell and Brown from San Francisco designed the project, which features elements of Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles. Its cost was $1.3 million. The dome height is 26 feet (7.9 m) and the diameter is 54 feet (16 m). The scene was not filmed on location, but in a studio. However, Pasadena City Hall was used for background shots.
