The scene was filmed at Fort Lovrijenac, often called the "Gibraltar of Dubrovnik", is a fortress and theater located beyond the western wall of the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia, at an altitude of 37 meters (121 feet) above sea level. Long before "Game of Thrones", "Star Wars" and "Robin Hood" used stone facades as sets for blockbusters, one of the Avengers fought evil on these same streets.
