The scene was filmed at The origin of the church dates back to December 1923, when the Archbishop of Mexico, José Mora del Río, blessed the site and a small chapel was built. On September 24, 1938, engineer Miguel Rebolledo began construction of the new church building according to plans by architect Luis Olvera, a significant portion of the cost being paid from donations from residents of Colonia del Valle. In May 1945, with the full participation of the Claretian community, the construction of the first part of the sanctuary began; by 1946 the crypt was completed; the final stage began in mid-1947 when architect Antonio Muñoz took over the construction of the sanctuary, and continued until 1953. The total height of the parish is 65 meters with a multifaceted dome 20 meters high, crowned by an image of Mary with half-open arms, which together with the base reaches 10 meters and is visible from a great distance.
