The scene was filmed at Strawberry Mansion - a neighborhood in Philadelphia located east of Fairmount Park. The area was formerly known as Summerville and got its name from a historic house known as Strawberry Mansion. Modern Strawberry Mansion has gained a reputation as one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Philadelphia. This area is quite large in size and population, and the police do not pay enough attention to it. However, as of 2005, the southern and western borders of Strawberry Mansion show signs of gentrification.

In Reality
The scene was filmed at The Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is a nonprofit equestrian organization in North Philadelphia. It is part of a century-old tradition of Black urban cowboys and horseback riding in Philadelphia. The club has existed for over 100 years. The current organization was founded in 2004 by Ellis Ferrell. In the late 2000s, city authorities demolished part of the stables and the clubhouse, allegedly for redevelopment. In April 2021, following the release of the Netflix film based on them, Ellis Ferrell and the Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club began fundraising so that support could go to real programs.
