The scene was filmed at Turtle Bay Resort, which opened in May 1972. Its original name was Kuilima Del Webb Resort Hotel and Country Club. It was built by casino developer Del Webb to become the first casino on the island, but it didn't pass. In Hawaiian, kui lima means "join hands." The resort is about a 50-minute drive from Honolulu.
