The scene was filmed at Opéra Garnier, also known as the Palais Garnier, is an opera house. It houses the oldest opera and ballet company in France, the Paris National Opera. It was designed by architect Charles Garnier and built by order of Napoleon III. The official opening took place on January 5, 1875. The interior is richly decorated with gold leaf, frescoes, and marble. The building is 125 meters wide, 173 meters long, and 73.6 meters high. The auditorium seats 2,131 spectators, and the stage, with an area of about 1,200 m², can accommodate 450 performers. Today, the opera house mainly hosts ballet performances.
