The scene was filmed at the Eugenio Monti Olympic Track, a bobsleigh and skeleton track located in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. It is named after Eugenio Monti, who won six medals in bobsleigh at the Winter Olympics. Five venues used during the 1956 Winter Olympics appear in the film 'For Your Eyes Only'. Other venues include the ski jump, Tofane, Apollonino Stadium, and Stadio Olimpico. One of the film's stuntmen, Paolo Rigon, was killed during the first day of filming the track scene. In January 2008, after the last bobsleigh tournament, the track was closed. In 2019, the president of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) told the press that he wanted to spend 38 million euros on reconstructing the bobsleigh track for the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.
