The film "Decision to Leave" was filmed in South Korea.
Filming Locations:
Songgwangsa Temple
In the Movie

Scene where Seo-rae and Hae-jun visit the temple.
In Reality
The scene was filmed at Songgwangsa Buddhist Temple.
Bombawi Rock
In the Movie
Scene where Hae-jun arrives at the place where a dead body was found.
In Reality
The scene was filmed at Bombawi Rock. The scene where Hae-jun, investigating the murder, climbs up a rock wall on a rope is a combination of location shooting and a set. The side of the cliff was filmed at Bombawi Rock at Yongrang Lake Resort in Sokcho, but it was not high enough for the film. So they built an open set in Busan and shot additional climbing scenes as if they were on a high cliff.
Bunam Beach
In the Movie

Scene where Seo-rae knows she is going to the beach. She knows what she must do.
In Reality
The scene was filmed at Bunam Beach. Access to the beach is only allowed until 6 PM on weekends. The beach is strictly controlled by the neighboring village's self-government, and a sunset shoot was planned. Director Park Chan-wook really wanted this location, but the problem was that it is impossible to film the sunset there because it faces east on the Sea of Japan. That is why the sunset scene was filmed at Hakampo Beach and Magumpo Beach in Taean on the west side, and the scenes were combined, and later a few more rocks were added using computer graphics.
