The film was shot in San Francisco and Arizona, USA. The alien exteriors were filmed in the historical region of Cappadocia, Turkey, as well as in Nevşehir Province. Studio filming took place in Los Angeles and Atlanta, as well as at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, UK. Most of the film takes place in the quantum realm. The film crew needed to find landscapes that reflect the fantastic views of this microscopic world.

In the Movie

Scene where Scott and Cassie enter the quantum realm. They try to contact the Pyms, who are also in this world but in another part. Scott tries to calm himself and his daughter. They are attacked by several monsters.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in Arizona, near Marble Canyon. The rocky alien landscapes of White Pocket Trail suited the film crew well for depicting the quantum realm, where everything looks otherworldly and unreal.

In the Quantum Realm

In the Movie

Scene where Hope, Hank, and Janet end up in the quantum realm. They notice a ship scanning the area. Janet hides her husband and daughter and asks them to trust her. However, Hope wants answers, because her mother previously said there was nothing in the quantum realm, but clearly that is not the case.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in Cappadocia, Turkey. This area is notable for its bizarre volcanic landscapes, as well as cave settlements and underground cities. An excellent place to depict the quantum realm.

Police Station

In the Movie

Scene where Scott runs into the police station, where Hope is already waiting for him. Lang's daughter is led out of the cell and taken to a window where her belongings are handed over. One of the officers demands that she return what belongs to him.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the North Beach police department in San Francisco. The plots of the first and second Ant-Man films took place in San Francisco. For the filming of the third film, the film crew returned to California.
