The film was mostly shot in the Moscow region, where two houses are located - an old Russian izba and a modern house where the children were moved. Interestingly, the Russian izba from which the children were taken was not originally there, but was brought from the Tver region.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in the Moscow region on the Pakhra River, where the production designers found a picturesque spot with a view of the river. The house itself was found in the Tver region and was moved here specifically for the filming.
