According to the film's plot, all the action takes place in a "club" where young people try to organize a New Year's festive show. That is, there are no exterior or street scenes in the plot. Therefore, almost all episodes were filmed on the sets of Mosfilm, except for those where it was necessary to show the stage and the space behind the stage, as well as the auxiliary rooms of the theater.

The scene where the performance begins on stage, and the guests are already seated in the hall. Meanwhile, Mr. Ogurtsov is eager to get into the hall to watch the show, but he does not know that a fun show, rehearsed in secret, awaits him, not his planned popular science lecture.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on the stage of the "Palace on the Yauza", although it is one of the central theaters located in the capital, it had a fairly ordinary interior and according to the director and production designer's concept, it could be either a Moscow or any other Palace of Culture in the USSR; the film does not name the city or the hall.
