Filming of David Fincher's 'The Killer' took place in New Orleans, Paris, and the Dominican Republic. In Chicago (Union Station area, River West area, and Halsted Street), the film crew was also spotted. Other filming locations included St. Charles, Illinois, and Los Angeles, Louisiana.

The scene where Michael Fassbender's character buys himself breakfast at McDonald's while waiting for the target to arrive. As he methodically disassembles the sandwich, removing the buns and leaving only the filling, he keeps his eyes fixed on the hotel entrance where the target is supposed to appear. While waiting, he observes his surroundings—the people sitting in the same square as him, reflecting on the idea that "man is a wolf to man, kill or be killed."

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the public square Place de l'Estrapade in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. The relaxed atmosphere of the square underscores the inner state of our hero. He has been waiting for his target for five days straight; he is in no hurry, just like the people in this square. Although it is noticeable that he is beginning to lose patience.

The scene where Michael Fassbender's character gathers information bit by bit about those who attacked his home and his girlfriend. He follows a taxi driver who, in his opinion, took the attacker to the airport. Intercepting him during his break, he claims he is running late and hires him.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo. The film crew captured the area of Columbus Park and the surrounding neighborhoods. In the center of Columbus Park AKA Parque Colon stands a statue of Christopher Columbus, which can be seen in the frame.
