Principal photography for the series took place in New York State and New Jersey in the USA, in the Hudson River Valley. The unwelcoming corporate headquarters was filmed in Kingston, located in Ulster County. Various shops in Beacon underwent minor cosmetic changes to become sets for some scenes in the series.

The scene was filmed in the Village Gate area of Nyack, a suburb of New York. The village is located on the western bank of the Hudson River in a hilly area. These small townhouses look quite secluded, as if designed for those who want to live away from the city bustle.

Scene where Mark sits in a restaurant talking on the phone with his neighbor. Suddenly, a stranger sits down next to him and demands he end the call immediately. At first, he speaks rather incomprehensibly, which alarms the main character. Then he disconcerts Mark by claiming to be his coworker, which is impossible.

The scene was filmed at the retro 1962 diner Phoenicia Diner in Ulster County. The unassuming, secluded roadside diner is a perfect synonym for the life Mark leads. It is as much a bastion of loneliness as the house where the main character lives.
