In reality

The scene was shot in the subway. Where Ivan meets Bazin takes place in a typical Moscow metro car of the 1980s. The filming location is an authentic subway train. The interior of the car is done in colors characteristic of that time: light beige walls with metal handrails and seats upholstered in brown leatherette. The dim lighting of fluorescent lamps creates an atmosphere typical of the Moscow metro of that era.

This case is no exception. A heavy drama unfolds before our eyes, and the location only emphasizes this oppressive atmosphere.

In reality

The scene was shot at the house at 7th Rostovsky Lane, 21, in Moscow — this is not just a film location, but also a real building that houses a court. This structure is a classic example of the capital's residential development from the 1950s–1960s, belonging to the so-called "Stalinist" buildings. The court is still located there today.

Cafe 'U Fontana' (At the Fountain)

The scene where Ivan takes Katya to a popular spot – the cafe 'U Fontana'. Music, lights, cheerful young people – none of this impresses the heroine. She even refuses treats and is very cold towards the humor of the cafe's regulars.

In reality

The scene was shot at the cafe "U Fontana", which was located in the Olympic Village, named after a fountain that never worked. The first themed parties were held there (Wednesday - rock and roll, Friday - breakdance). People nicknamed the cafe "Moloko" (Milk) because of the lack of alcohol – the bar offered milkshakes and ice cream. Now there is a shopping center with a restaurant complex, also a very popular youth spot.
