The film's action takes place at Los Angeles Airport, USA. To create its interior on screen, the production team used a decommissioned terminal of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana. Director Jaume Collet-Serra said that filming at this location was a great stroke of luck for the team, as it is much more exciting to shoot in a real place than on a green screen.
