Kislovodsk was chosen for filming 'Cheburashka' because the script required a collective image of a cozy resort seaside town. The necessary locations were sought in the south of the country, and most of the shooting days were planned in Kislovodsk. The film crew liked the city's Kurortny Park and its fairy-tale atmosphere. Beautiful streets and houses also played a role in creating the film's atmosphere: they created a sense of fairy tale and fit well into Cheburashka's story.
In addition, the filming contributed to the popularization of Kislovodsk as a tourist destination: now not only lovers of mineral waters and beautiful landscapes come to the city, but also fans of Cheburashka.

As soon as Valera stepped onto the porch of the house, he heard a loud crash, something was banging on the roof of the house. It turned out to be a rain of oranges. They did not yet know who they were about to meet on their way - the furry and big-eared Cheburashka.

In Reality

The scene was filmed Gena's little house of a characteristic marsh color was built on the territory of the Ordzhonikidze sanatorium, with a winter garden with relict trees visible in the background. The structure where the 'crocodile' lived was dismantled immediately after filming ended.
