Initially, the sequel was to be filmed on Cape Cod. However, facing some difficulties (no, not a giant shark), the filmmakers moved production to Florida. Filming mainly took place on Navarre Beach. Some scenes were shot west of Pensacola, near Fort Pickens.

Boat Underwater

In the Movie

Scene where two divers underwater, Bert and Ernie, and one points to the other 'down there'. They dive deeper to investigate a sunken fishing boat, and as they move through the cabins, an unclear, menacing figure approaches.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on Navarre Beach, located near Highway 98, served as the filming location for these specific scenes and most other exterior shots of the film. The filmmakers chose the area between Destin and Fort Walton Beach simply because of the warm, pleasant climate and water depth. The waters in this area were also deep enough for the sharks to plausibly circle around the platform set up in the area.

Bar

In the Movie

Scene where Mike hangs out with his friends, including Brooke, Jackie, Timmy, Andy, Ed, and Tina, in a game room with a pinball machine. There they discuss their plans to go to a party at the lighthouse, to which one of their acquaintances invited them.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at Hog's Breath Saloon, which was formerly located on Okaloosa Island. The restaurant/bar was moved and set up at a different address because its original location was marked as a hurricane-prone area. Since 2005, it has been in an abandoned state.

Hotel

In the Movie

Scene where In the first few minutes of the film, Chief Brody enters a new luxury hotel where a grand opening ball is in full swing. He takes his place among other dignitaries, and Mayor Vaughn, presiding over the ceremony, begins a speech.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the Holiday Inn in Navarre, which served as the film's headquarters. Production offices were located on the first floor. Unfortunately, this hotel no longer exists after being destroyed during the 2004 Atlantic hurricane season.
