The filming of the movie «Serf» took place in Moscow and the Pskov region, near the village of Pushkinskie Gory, on the banks of the Sorot River. This place is often called the Movie Village: almost no one lives here, and all the built houses serve as filming locations.

Grisha Stopped by a Traffic Police Officer

The scene where after the club, Grisha decides to get behind the wheel and take a little drive through nighttime Moscow. Suddenly, he notices a traffic police car signaling him, and he has to stop. Grisha throws money in the face of the traffic police officer, and then manages to give him a ride on the hood of his car.

The scene was filmed in the center of Moscow on Novy Arbat.

The scene where Grisha's father arrives at the police station where his son was taken after he gave a traffic police officer a ride on the hood and also drove while intoxicated. He is suspected of using illegal substances.
In Reality
The scene was filmed at the actual Internal Affairs Department for the Chertanovo Tsentralnoye district of the Southern Administrative Okrug of Moscow.
