Principal photography took place in Moscow, but some material was shot on location. For instance, the scene in the Moscow metro was actually filmed at the Politekhnicheskaya station in Saint Petersburg. The bridge where the medieval battle unfolded is located in a museum complex in the Tver region. And Samarkand was portrayed by Kazakhstan — the sets of the ancient city were built near Almaty, and Kazakh actors participated in the crowd scenes.

The scene where Alice drives away from Galina's murder scene and talks on the phone with Zavulon's assistant, who refuses to meet her. The main character does not despair and, at full speed, drives onto the facade of a building, racing along the circumference, smashing everything in her path, and ends up directly in the hotel corridor with her car.

In Reality

The scene was filmed near the famous Hotel Cosmos, located close to the center of Moscow. For the scene of sliding along the facade, a horizontal mock-up was built, and the car had to drive along it. However, the chase through the hotel corridors and halls was filmed in a studio, as the Mazda did not fit into the corridors and the hall where it needed to turn around.

The scene where the main character Anton Gorodetsky runs as fast as he can from the dark forces through the streets of Moscow. Without thinking long, Anton decides to jump into a portal in the form of an outdoor advertisement for the film "9th Company" and ends up directly in the metro, on the platform. He tries to ask a metro employee which station this is, but without waiting for an answer, he jumps into the nearest train and tries to escape from his pursuers.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in Saint Petersburg, at the Politekhnicheskaya metro station. The station's architecture is executed in a strict functional style using marble and granite, creating an atmosphere suitable for tense scenes such as Anton Gorodetsky's escape. The station's location is ideal for filming due to its depth and unique design, which creates a sense of an underground world. The station's decoration, including decorative elements symbolizing scientific achievements, echoes the film's themes related to the struggle between the Light and the Dark. The architecture and lighting of the station enhance the atmosphere of anxiety and uncertainty.
