"Taste of the Sun" is a co-production between Russia and Uzbekistan. The film was commissioned by the Uzbekistan Cinema Agency and produced by the Russian film company "Sputnik Vostok Production." Therefore, the main filming took place in Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent, and the Tashkent region. Post-production was done in Moscow. Because the filming was done on real locations without sets, the film even made the shortlist for the International "Makers Shakers Awards 2021" in the category "Outstanding Creative Use of Location."
