The story of astronomy graduate student Kate and her professor Dr. Mindy, who make a stunning discovery: a comet will hit Earth. It will destroy everything on the planet in about six months. Unfortunately, no one seems to care. Filming began in November 2020, with actors and directors heading to Massachusetts, especially the Boston and Weymouth areas, to shoot some scenes. But most of the filming took place in Boston, including several famous locations such as the Museum of Fine Arts and the historic South Station.

The scene where Professor Mindy and Kate head to the train station with Dr. Teddy Oglethorpe after a disappointing visit to the US President. Now they plan to take matters into their own hands, since the country's leaders do not take their devastating news seriously. They intend to leak information about the catastrophic comet approaching Earth to the press, because "the White House just brushed them off," as Teddy described.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at South Station – the busiest transit hub in Boston. The historic station opened in 1898 and now serves thousands of travelers, commuters, and shoppers every day. It is also the city's largest railway station and intercity bus terminal. It is conveniently located in downtown Boston, near many tourist attractions.

The scene where Kate and Professor Mindy finally told the world in a television interview about the comet that will destroy everything on the planet in six months and ten days. But everything went wrong. Now they are receiving massive negative backlash from the media and the public, and the police are looking for them. Teddy is captured as he leaves the office, the FBI arrests Professor Mindy at his home, and Kate is detained in the park while jogging. They are arrested for "disclosing national security secrets."

In Reality

The scene was filmed in an area that in real life is not a public park. It is actually part of Wheaton College, known as "The Dimple." It is the heart of the Wheaton campus, so named because of the bowl-shaped depression at its center.

Restaurant

The scene where an angry Kate causes another public scandal in a seafood restaurant after learning the reason for the mission's failure. Apparently, the government decided not to break up the comet as originally planned because they wanted to collect its valuable minerals, "to make a bunch of rich people even more disgustingly rich," as Kate put it. As a result, the restaurant's patrons, in a fit of anger and panic, destroy the restaurant.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the bar "Howl at the Moon." It was transformed beyond recognition for the filming. Today it remains a popular spot for those seeking vibrant nightlife in the city. Besides its cocktails, "Howl at the Moon" is known for its high-quality music programs, live performances, and events year-round. Unsurprisingly, it has several branches across the country, including Chicago, Washington D.C., Orlando, and many others.
