The sequel to the comedy about the election campaign was filmed in Astrakhan this time. For the sake of large-scale filming, all of Astrakhan underwent changes. To allow cameramen to capture good shots, car traffic was restricted in the city center. The main hall of the city registry office temporarily turned into the office of Governor Tsaplin. And on the embankment, next to the monument to Peter I, road workers built a fake bridge over the Volga specifically for the film's shooting.

Scene where The grand opening ceremony of a new bridge begins. The sun is shining, an orchestra is playing, joyful locals have gathered – an idyll! The governor, after his rousing speech, approaches to cut the symbolic red ribbon and … the bridge collapses right into the river.

The scene was filmed on the embankment near the ferry pier. Workers built an artificial bridge, but recreated it with such precision that even locals did not immediately realize the trick. "The set was so realistic that at first I thought a real bridge had been built in Astrakhan!" shared a local resident. If only more such films were made, maybe we would have good roads built too!

Governor's Reception

Scene where a report is being broadcast from the governor's reception, but without him yet. Journalists emphasize how many people have gathered in the reception and want to see the head. However, the reporters omit that the governor has disappeared.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in the main ceremonial hall of the city registry office. This truly exquisite and unique building became the governor's residence. The main facade of the registry office is decorated with columns, large arched windows, and elegant decorative elements. The white-cream and blue tones of the building give it sophistication, and the spacious entrance with a wide staircase creates a sense of grandeur, which was important for creating the image of a reception room for a person of such level.

Restaurant on the Water

Scene where a Cossack detachment enters the restaurant on the water. Everyone is in traditional costumes and papakhas. The detachment asks restaurant guests for documents for inspection. However, this offends Nonna Grishaeva's character, who tries to fight back. The Cossacks have not yet recognized their old acquaintances, but that quickly changes.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the restaurant "Aquatoria" in Astrakhan. This is a floating restaurant located in the heart of the main city embankment. They offer exquisite cuisine, provide excellent service, and the atmosphere is complemented by live music. Don't worry, they only check documents for persons under 18 years old.
