The filming of the movie «The Golden Calf» took place in the city of Yuryev-Polsky, Vladimir Oblast. The scenes of the fictional town of Arbatov were shot here, including episodes with Bender walking along the shop windows in the Trading Rows. Behind the hero in the frame, part of the fence of the Michael the Archangel Monastery and its cathedral are visible. Some other scenes (as if in the town of Udoyev) were filmed in the neighboring village of Sima, where a noble estate and a watchtower have been preserved. In addition, the film crew worked in Odessa (the filming location for Chernomorsk) and the Karakum Desert (sets for scenes where the heroes travel in the car «Antelope-Gnu»).
