Since the plot of the film «Beetlejuice» revolves around the afterlife, the underworld, and the dead, the filming location had to be perfect. Most of the production and filming of «Beetlejuice» took place in Vermont and at a studio in Culver City, California. Because Tim Burton is known for his creative ideas, a studio was needed where all his wild fantasies could be brought to life. All those strange scenes were shot in special sets built for the film. Although some visual effects were added later. Some scenes were filmed in local buildings located in East Corinth — a small town in Orange County, Vermont.
