The series takes place in the mid-90s, when the death penalty was legal. A new prison employee, Kostya, finds his own approach to carrying out death sentences. After meeting the father of one of the victims, he decides that the punishment should be carried out by relatives. Kostya organizes a business by outsourcing these executions. Filming took place in Moscow, Mineralnye Vody, the Elbrus region, and Kamchatka. Real residents of Kamchatka Krai were involved as extras.

Kamchatka is known for its natural beauty, hot springs, and volcanoes, which can serve as an excellent backdrop for filming dramatic or action scenes.

In the distance, dark silhouettes of ships are visible, and an anxious silence hangs in the air. The port, like the entire city, is consumed by cold and loneliness. Our hero addresses a woman standing nearby and offers her to carry out the execution, doing so with the same confidence as if it were a simple task. Against the backdrop of the gloomy surroundings and the vast expanses of Kamchatka, his proposal sounds particularly harsh and detached, as if there is no room for compassion in these places.

The scene was filmed at the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sea Commercial Port. It is located on the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk and has an open, industrial space with long piers where large sea vessels and cargo ships dock.
