The plot of the film unfolds in England, and a special location was required for the shooting — a river with locks. A suitable place was searched for a long time and eventually found in the Kaliningrad region, on the border with Lithuania, in the city of Sovetsk, formerly known as Tilsit. The local Neman River, in the eyes of the cameraman, perfectly conveyed the atmosphere of the foggy Thames. The quiet and cozy town captivated the film crew with its atmosphere.
