The scene was filmed At 66 North 6th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There was an indie music venue that closed in 2003 shortly after the film's release. However, it has since been revived as the Music Hall of Williamsburg. The music club opened in spring 2001 and was one of the first such places to appear in Brooklyn.

Scene where Dewey urgently needs money for rent and tries to sell equipment. Then he gets a call from Rosalie Mullins, the principal of a prep school. Mullins is looking for Ned Schneebly as a temporary substitute teacher. Dewey, desperately needing money, impersonates Ned and successfully takes the job.

Production designer Jeremy Conway and his team designed the apartment interior, creating a distinctive space with brick walls, filled with vinyl records, various guitars, and a used drum set. The apartment is privately owned, so you can only see its exterior.

The scene was filmed At the St. George Theatre on Staten Island. Originally a classic movie theater built in 1929, it was restored in 2004 after years of closure and converted into a 2,800-seat theater. This building remains one of the most impressive local landmarks on Staten Island today.
