For the filming of this hilarious romantic comedy, the film crew went to the cities of Petaluma and Santa Rosa in California. Petaluma is a place where the atmosphere of the 1960s still clearly prevails, and it has been used for many films over the years. Petaluma even hosts an annual retro car festival, so if you wake up in Petaluma on that day, you will feel like Peggy Sue waking up in the 1960s! Interestingly, many of the houses and buildings used in the film actually exist and were not built specifically for the movie.
